Whole Pastured Sommerlad Cockerel 2.5-3.5kgs

Cockerels are the roosters of our Sommerlad flock and preferred in Europe for their flavoursome profile. Sommerlad chickens are bred from lots of different breeds and are well suited to Australian outdoor conditions, have darker tasty meat and thicker skin than conventional chickens and take up to three times as long to finish than commercial breeds.

Our free-range Sommerlad flock spend their days pecking and scratching the paddocks and roaming our pastured paddocks. We move them every few days and they leave behind lovely fertilised and soft soil, littered with feathers and straw which add delicious organic material to the soil.
