Free Range Sommerlad Chickens

Sommerlad chickens, lovingly bred by Michael Sommerlad, are perfect for Australian conditions, combining genetics from Aussie game, Light Sussex, and Plymouth Rock. We get our chicks from Bruce at Milking Yard Farm in Trentham, who continues to evolve the breed just for us. These amazing birds bring biodiversity to our farm, enrich our soil, and produce the most delicious, tender dark meat with beautiful yellow fat that keeps it juicy. Their strong bones and active nature make them perfect for roaming our paddocks—and their meat is so forgiving and flavorful, it’s a joy to cook!

Deliveries are made nationwide with Be Cool a refrigerated transport company and leave our farm every Wednesday.
